India growth quickens to surprise 4.8% in July-Sept

Workers cut fresh mangoes to be used in the production of ice cream at Vadilal Industries in Pundhara village, around 60 km from Ahmedabad on May 28, 2013 India's economic growth from July to September quickened to a faster-than-expected 4.8 percent compared with a year earlier, official data showed Friday, boosted by stronger farm input. The figure for the second financial quarter topped consensus market forecasts of 4.6 percent and was higher than the 4.4 percent expansion India logged in the previous three months.
